What we usually walk into

Most furniture jobs in Vancouver, WA and Portland, OR are one of three things. A single piece: the old sofa, a recliner nobody sits in, a dresser a tenant left behind. A room: bed frame, headboard, nightstands and dresser after a parent moves into care. Or a garage of leftovers after a move, waiting for a pickup.

Bungalows in Sellwood and Alberta have a narrow basement stair with a turn at the bottom, which is where the sleeper sofa lives. Manufactured homes in Hazel Dell have tight carports, so we stage on the street and carry. We measure the doorway, tilt the piece, and if it still will not go, we take it apart.

What it costs

Single pieces are fixed prices from the price list. A couch or loveseat is $119 online. A sectional is $169.

More than a couple of pieces and we price by the truck. A quarter truck, about a small bedroom set, is $189 online or $209 by phone. A half truck is $369, three-quarters $549, and a full 16 cubic yard truck $739.

We decide the size on site before anything goes in. We look at the pile, name the fraction, you agree, then we load. It only moves if you add pieces after that. What pushes a job up a tier is volume, not weight: a couple of small pieces fit the $99 minimum, but a dresser, two nightstands and a headboard are a quarter truck.

How the visit goes

We call when we are 30 minutes out. We bring the dolly, blankets and tools for pieces that need to come apart. You show us what goes and what stays. That is the whole job on your side: no clearing a path, no wrapping, no lifting a corner. If you cannot be there, leave the door or gate accessible, tell us which pieces, and we send photos with the invoice. Empty the drawers if you want what is in them. If not, the contents ride along.

Where it goes

Donation first. A couch, dresser or table in usable shape goes to a donation partner before anything else. Metal bed frames and patio sets are pulled for metal recycling.

Camas and Washougal loads go to the Washougal Transfer Station at the same rate. A TV that goes out with the bedroom set is accepted at no charge under WA E-Cycle.

Metro takes mattresses free, up to 4 per trip, and electronics free, up to 7 per trip, and we pass that on when a box spring or monitor rides with the furniture. Station fees are already inside the published price.

How this differs from the neighboring services

This page is for the pieces you sit on, sleep on and store things in. A bare mattress or box spring is its own line: mattress removal is $99 for the first piece and $30 for the second. A fridge, washer or range is appliance removal, with the coolant fee inside the $129 refrigerator price. A TV or monitor is TV and electronics recycling, $89 alone or $49 when it goes out with your couch, and it goes to a certified recycler. A hot tub is not furniture; hot tub removal starts at $349 for a freestanding tub and $499 for one in a deck or cut in place.

Before you book

Will you break down a bed frame or sectional that will not fit through the door?

Yes. Taking it apart is part of the price.

Do you take furniture that is broken, stained or water damaged?

Yes, at the same price. It goes to the transfer station instead of a donation partner.

Can you pick up from an apartment, condo or storage unit?

Yes. Give us the gate code, unit number or elevator reservation when you book.
