Salmon Creek is county, not city, so there is no free bulky pickup

Salmon Creek is a census-designated place in unincorporated Clark County. Waste Connections of Washington hauls the garbage here, the same company that serves the City of Vancouver, but the city’s free annual bulky item pickup is for city residents with city service. Out here the hauler still takes bulky items, on your regular service day, scheduled up to a week ahead and priced per item. For anything bigger than that, the county’s Solid Waste line is 564.397.7352, or you rent a trailer, or you call us.

Your mail says Vancouver. That is a mailing address, not a city limit. If you went looking for the free pickup and came up empty, that is why.

HOA subdivisions, and loading that does not leave a pile

Much of Salmon Creek went up between the early 1990s and the mid 2000s, and a good share of it sits inside an HOA. Those associations tend to have rules about what can be visible from the street and for how long, which matters more than people expect when they are clearing a garage.

We load straight into the truck and leave with it. Nothing is staged at your curb, nothing sits overnight, and there is no pile waiting for a neighbor to photograph. If your HOA needs a certificate of insurance before a vendor works on the property, ask and we will send one.

The newer subdivisions around Mount Vista and up through Pleasant Highlands are mostly attached-garage homes with good truck access, which keeps these jobs quick.

Acreage, outbuildings, and the stuff that comes with them

North and east of the subdivisions the lots get bigger, and by the time you are heading toward Battle Ground you are into real acreage. Different job entirely.

These properties come with shops, barns, detached sheds and side yards, and they accumulate things suburban lots never do: equipment that stopped running, fencing, scrap lumber, old lawn tractors, the remains of a project from 2011. A lot of them are on well and septic, with outbuildings that have never been fully emptied.

The truck holds 16 cubic yards and these are often two-load days. We will tell you that up front rather than discovering it halfway through.

Rental turnover near WSU Vancouver

The stretch around WSU Vancouver and Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center carries a lot of rental inventory, and it turns over on a schedule. June and late August tend to be the crunch, and they are predictable enough that we hold capacity for them.

If you manage units out here, we do unit turns, tenant abandonment clears and between-tenant hauls, and we send before-and-after photos for your file. Invoiced, not cash at the door. We would rather be on your rotation than be an emergency call. Details on the services page.

Where it goes

Salmon Creek loads run to Central Transfer and Recycling on NE 117th Avenue.

TVs, monitors and computers go to a WA E-Cycle site free of charge, so we do not add anything for electronics. Refrigerators, freezers and AC units we take too. The transfer station charges a handling fee for the coolant, and that is built into our price rather than added at the door.

Salmon Creek questions

Is Salmon Creek inside Vancouver city limits? No. It is unincorporated Clark County, which is why the city’s free annual bulky pickup does not apply to your address.

My HOA is strict about things sitting out front. Understood, and it is why we load direct. Nothing stays at your curb after we leave.

I have a shop and two sheds to empty. Text photos to (360) 702-7327 and we will tell you whether that is one load or two before we schedule.

How soon can you get to Salmon Creek? Often the same day, with a 2-hour arrival window, Monday to Saturday 7am to 8pm and Sunday by request. Book online and the price is $20 under the phone price.
