Bulky pickup here is paid, per item, and it stops at the curb
There is no free bulky item pickup on the calendar here. City of Battle Ground garbage service runs through Waste Connections, and a bulky item is a paid pickup booked by appointment.
It is priced per item plus a trip charge on the hauler’s current rate sheet, and the item has to be at the street.
That is where the program stops. Nothing comes out of the house, the garage or the shop. We start wherever the item is now: a sleeper sofa upstairs or a chest freezer at the back of a barn, at the same truck price.
Inside the city limits and outside them
Battle Ground has been an incorporated city since June 18, 1951. It counted 20,743 at the 2020 census and roughly doubled between 2000 and 2010.
The city limits stop short of a lot of what we cover from this page. Meadow Glade, Venersborg and Brush Prairie are census-designated places in unincorporated Clark County, and we run them as part of the Battle Ground route. The same price from us, either side of the line.
What Battle Ground homes hand us
Old Town. The blocks around Main Street have the oldest houses in the city, mostly on smaller lots. What we get here is basements, attics and the detached garage that came with the house, usually a half or full truck rather than one piece.
The subdivisions. Most of the city’s housing is late 1990s and 2000s builds with two-car garages, and the garage is what fills. Move-outs, a bay that turned into storage, a basement remodel. A quarter to a half truck, often with a mattress on top.
Brush Prairie and northeast Battle Ground. Newer subdivisions along SR 503, a lot of them with an HOA that wants the driveway clear. Move-in packing debris, replaced furniture, the hot tub the previous owner left.
Meadow Glade. A lot of family homes on bigger lots, some manufactured homes, owners who have been there a long time. More estate first passes and downsizing here.
Venersborg. Platted as 10-acre lots in the early 1900s, and a lot of them are still large. Barns, shops, orchard equipment, decades of things that never made it to the dump. We load from the outbuilding at the same price when the truck can get within 100 feet; past that it is a flat $25 carry charge, not an hourly one. What we take covers the odd stuff.
Where a Battle Ground load goes
Most of it goes to Central Transfer and Recycling, run by Columbia Resource Company, at $118.65 a ton plus a $10 transaction fee per trip and the state 3.6% solid waste tax. A fridge or freezer carries a $24.91 refrigerant handling fee there, which is why our fridge price includes it. TVs and monitors are $0 at the station and free at any E-Cycle Washington site, so we do not surcharge them.
Scrap metal comes out before the tip. The yard is in Battle Ground, about 5 minutes from most addresses in the city, so we can often fit a job in the same day. See the full price list.
Battle Ground questions
Is Venersborg or Brush Prairie priced differently from the city? No. Same truck prices, no travel fee. The only rural add-on is the $25 carry charge past 100 feet from the truck.
Can you clear a whole barn or shop in one trip? A full truck usually does the first pass, and we say up front if it needs a second. Book online and attach photos.
What about the old riding mower, the tires and the paint cans? The mower and the tires come, tires at $15 each. Paint, solvents and pesticides stay; Columbia Resource Company lists free household hazardous waste days on its rates page.
Do you cover Ridgefield and Salmon Creek from the same yard? Yes. Ridgefield and Salmon Creek get the same prices and 2-hour windows, Monday to Saturday 7am to 8pm, Sunday by request.
